PARTICIPANTS' REACTIONS

Don't take our word for it! This is what previous participants have said about taking part in DocCelerator:

Highly recommend this workshop! It really helped us to clarify the film's direction and structure.

It's wonderful that someone makes such training programs.

I was part of the 3rd edition of the DocCelerator Workshop with Ove Rishøj Jensen and Geoffrey Smith and it was an incredible experience. If you have a project in development, don't hesitate and apply for the workshop.

DocCeleratorPitch is an online documentary pitch and development program. It is aimed at you, if you are a documentary maker wanting to optimize your funding opportunities for your project. The workshop will make your project ready for pitching and presentations to funders, investors, broadcasters and distributors as well as create a realistic market expectation for your project.

The next dates and deadline for DocCeleratorPitch will be announced soon.

As a participant in DocCeleratorPitch you get:

  • feedback on writing project presentations
  • guidance on editing a strong pitch pilot
  • tools for making a solid verbal pitch
  • methods for developing a stronger pitching package for funding.

The three-day workshop consists of a number of plenary sessions, where the selected participants get comprehensive feedback on how to enhance their written, verbal and visual project presentation. It also includes four precise exercises that the tutors provide, in order to enhance the pitch of each of the selected projects. After the workshop the participants will get individual follow up on their projects as they develop their project pitch and presentation.

During the three working days of DocCeleratorPitch, you will as a participant join a number of online plenary sessions. Here you will have a complete approach to pitching and presenting documentary projects introduced to you, and you will receive concrete feedback on your project in order to create a better written, verbal and visual project presentation. In addition, you will also work with concrete writing, editing and pitching assignments, accelerating a focused presentation of your project. As an essential element of the workshop is re-editing of your pitch pilot/trailer, it is strongly recommended that you have an editor available during the workshop.

When the three-day workshop is completed, you will have learned a method for developing project presentations, which you can also apply for the future pitching of new projects.

Besides methods to building a better pitch, DocCeleratorPitch saves selected participants many hours of working and enhance the funding possibilities significantly. This is achieved through a more focused process for building a stronger pitch, which fits with the expectations of the international documentary market. The essence of DocCeleratorPitch is to invest in the pitching package in order to create a stronger set-up for the production.

DocCeleratorPitch, consisting of the three-day online workshop and the individual follow up mentorship, is for six selected filmmakers or teams with a project currently in development. As the workshop will require essential answers to key questions around the focus of your project, we recommend that producers and directors participate together. The DocCeleratorPitch workshop is run by Geoffrey Smith and Ove Rishøj Jensen.

Participants, either as a single person or as at team of producer and director, pay Euro 650,00 to participate with a project. The participation fee includes the three workshop days as well as follow up feedback on the pitch and pilot developed at the workshop.
