PARTICIPANTS' REACTIONS

Don't take our word for it! This is what previous participants have said about taking part in DocCelerator:

Highly recommend this workshop! It really helped us to clarify the film's direction and structure.

I loved DocCelerator and came out of it with an infinitely clearer idea of the film I have to make.

Thank you so much for the past two days! This was such an amazing lab. Our project has benefited a lot and we have learned a lot.

The DocCelerator workshop series is run by Geoffrey Smith and Ove Rishøj Jensen

DocCeleratorWorkInProgress is an online documentary story editing and distribution program. It is aimed at you, if you are a documentary maker looking for input to your project in production or at rough cut stage. You will get input to define the structural narrative of your recorded material and create the right strategy for festival distribution and international sales.

During Fall 2024 we are organising two editions of DocCeleratorStory and two special editions of DocCelerator

The next opportunity to take place in DocCeleratorWorkInProgress will be in Spring 2025.

As a participant in DocCeleratorWorkInProgress you get:

  • detailed feedback on your recorded material or rough cut
  • input to building a stronger emotional development
  • methods for distribution and festival strategies
  • suggestions and contacts to potential international sales.

The two-day workshop consists of a number of plenary sessions and individual meetings where the selected participants get comprehensive feedback on their recorded material or rough cuts, input to potential re-edits of the film and suggestions for international distribution and sales. After the workshop the participants will get individual follow up on their projects as they progress with the editing and distribution planning.

During the two working days of DocCeleratorWorkInProgress, you will as a participant join a number of online plenary sessions. Here you will have input about narrative structures and receive detailed feedback on your project. In addition, you will also work with concrete re-editing possibilities and building of a distribution plan for your film. When the two-day workshop is completed, you will have gained a stronger structural approach to your recorded material and a method for distribution, which you can also apply to future projects you will work on.

Besides generating creative input, DocCeleratorWorkInProgress saves selected participants many hours of working and much money in editing expenses. This is achieved because a more focused narrative analyses and concrete editing suggestions, which saves many expensive days in the editing room.

DocCeleratorWorkInProgress is for six selected filmmakers or teams with a project currently in production or editing. It consists of a two-day online workshop and an individual follow up mentorship. The DocCeleratorWorkInProgress workshop is run by Geoffrey Smith and Ove Rishøj Jensen.
