Thessaloniki Pitching Forum Calling for Submissions

Thessaloniki Pitching Forum is a new co-production and co-financing platform taking place within the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival. The forum is for long creative, TV and New Media documentaries. Deadline to submit is January 23, 2020.

The Thessaloniki Pitching Forum is taking place on March 6-11, 2020. During the forum 15 selected documentary teams will have the opportunity to get feedback on their projects during a two-day workshop run by experienced international tutors. This will be followed by a public one-day pitching session to international documentary players and a series of round table meetings with relevant industry professionals.

The forum is focusing on 15 original feature-length documentary projects from Southeastern Europe, Eastern Mediterranean countries and the Middle East that combine artistic ambition and high visual quality. Amongst those 15 projects, new media projects can be of shorter length. Projects that are either produced or co-produced by a country within these regions or contain elements in the story that link them to these regions.

Do you have a documentary that is not from the above-mentioned countries, but you think Thessaloniki is a good launching platform for you? You are welcome to apply. The selection committee will evaluate the project and consider including a small number of projects from outside these regions.

Once a project has been selected, both director and producer are expected to be present during the entire duration of the Thessaloniki Pitching Forum. The forum offers accommodation for five nights and two free Agora Doc Market badges per project.

Among the projects pitched at the forum, a number of awards will be presented. These include a Doc on Air Award of 2.000 euro granted by ERT TV in Greece and a MFI Script2Film Workshop Scholarship for their Doc Lab program.

In order to apply please send your submission by January 23, 2020. Application is free of charge. Make sure that you include the follow elements in one singular PDF Format in English:
