DocCeleratorRoughCut is an online documentary story editing and distribution program. It is aimed at you, if you are a documentary maker looking for input to your rough cut and distribution plan. The workshop will help you define the structural narrative of your rough cut and create the right strategy for festival distribution and international sales. The next opportunity to take place in DocCeleratorRoughCut is October 27-28, 2021. Deadline to apply is September 30, 2021. 

 

As a participant in DocCeleratorRoughCut you get:

  • detailed feedback on your rough cut or assembled material
  • input to building a stronger emotional development
  • methods for festival distribution strategies
  • suggestions and contacts to potential international sales.

 

The two-day workshop consists of a number of plenary sessions and individual meetings where the selected participants get comprehensive feedback on their rough cuts, input to potential re-edits of the film and suggestions for international distribution and sales. After the workshop the participants will get individual follow up on their projects as they progress with the editing and distribution planning.

 

During the two working days of DocCeleratorRoughCut, you will as a participant join a number of online plenary sessions. Here you will have input about narrative structures and receive detailed feedback on your project. In addition, you will also work with concrete re-editing possibilities and building of a distribution plan for your film. When the two-day workshop is completed, you will have gained a stronger structural approach to your rough cut and a method for distribution, which you can also apply to future projects you will work on.

 

Besides generating creative input, DocCeleratorRoughCut saves selected participants many hours of working and much money in editing expenses. This is achieved because a more focused narrative analyses and concrete editing suggestions, which saves many days of expensive editing.

 

DocCeleratorStroy program is for six selected filmmakers or teams with a project currently in late production stages or editing. It consists of a two-day online workshop and an individual follow up mentorship. The DocCeleratorRoughCut workshop is run by Geoffrey Smith and Ove Rishøj Jensen.

 

Dates for the next edition of the two-day online workshop are October 27-28, 2021. Deadline to apply is September 30, 2021. Participants, either as a single filmmaker or as at team, pay 500,00 Euro to participate with a project in development. The participation fee includes the two workshop days as well as follow up feedback on the project development.

 

In order to apply for DocCeleratorRoughCut, please send your project presentation including:

  • Synopsis – half a page & treatment with reflections on the narrative – around a full page
  • A link to rough cut/seleced scenes or other visual material available
  • An estimated time frame and total budget sum for the conpletion of the film
  • Contact details on the director and producer.
